It was someone else who signed up Evan for corn-syrup chugging, but there is the possibility he'll do it anyway.

Not only we'll we be doing the spam-turned-into-WOP sketch, we'll also be doing The Rigorous Inquisition, and also an adaptation of the Lumberjack song, which we have yet to write. (The WOP sketch is just going to be straight substitution; for the Rigorous Inquisition, we had to change it a bit; the Lumberjack song will have to be entirely rewritten. And remember, the talent show is Friday. :P )

I fell asleep during part of lecture today and dreamed about Glenn lecturing. :P In fact, it was that exact lecture, because, of course, I was actually hearing it at the time. I continued to hear it even after he had stopped lecturing in the dream.

But also today in lecture was the Great Race. √199 this year, against Peter, using a TI of some sort. The outcome was predictable. *g*

Today in geometry we did stuff with quaternions (to help us find the "shape" of O(3,R)). Yay quaternions!

We had a guest lecturer today, actually a representative from Wolfram, talking about "Exploring Recursive Sequences" or something like that and also advertising Mathematica. :P

He showed some neat functions, but on the whole it was pointless, and the guy was, as Rebecca put it, a "condescending jerk". He would ask questions like, "Are you familiar with Diophantine equations?". Gee, well, considering we're a number theory program...

But much worse than the lecturer was Bryce. I should probably note at this point that Bryce has some sort of mental disorder, what it is I don't know, but in lecture, it makes him act a lot like Bob, but even worse in some ways. (Unlike Bob, we don't really see him outside of lecture.) Someone said that it was the same thing Genya has, but that seems unlikely, as Genya is just a normal person who does funny things with his hat and has an awful stutter, while Bryce is horribly annoying and does no such things.

Bryce essentially made the lecture go half an hour overtime. Avi also helped add to the time, but trust me, he alone would not have been so bad. Bryce never raised his hand before speaking and generally said things that did little but make the lecture longer.

Naturally, Bryce is one of those people on whom Glenn often chooses to exercise his selective hearing. And vision - Bryce actually normally always raises his hand during lecture, even standing up or waving it about and occasionally saying "Um..." or "Excuse me...". So he's not as bad as Bob in that respect. I have to wonder why he never raised his hand at the guest lecture, though.

The guest lecturer at one point mentioned how he was actually using Mathematica 6, which was not out yet and as such rather buggy. This gives the entry its title.

...and that catches me up to the present, I suppose.

...oh, when I get home, make sure I show you the toothbrush thing. :D

Yeah, Szudzik was pretty condescending. In a major way.

Bryce has Asperger syndrome, I believe. Also OCD. Not a nice combination to have, so don't blame him so much.

I know, I know, but normally he annoyingly *raises his hand*.

So was I lucky that I didn't see anyone on Monday and conclude: "Oh god, that must be Bryce"?
