Today's entry will be about chemistry.

So, for chem, we have been assigned to write some electrochemistry problems, and then solve them. More points for more original and unsimple problems. Of course it's not exactly hard to solve a problem that you yourself wrote, but it still did get annoying. And of course I had to go back and change things every now and then, such as when it finally hit me that Hg2Cl2→2Hg+Cl2 was, in fact, a reaction in itself and not a half-reaction, and when, on my second problem, I got a negative temperature for an answer. Not that either of those were hard to fix. In the third problem I included a whole bunch of extraneous information just for the fun of it. :D
Dr. Crane thinks that Zumdahl's chapter on metals is boring and so we'll be skipping it and doing organic chemistry next.
Oh yeah, the Drs. Crane[0] have decided on a name (or rather, 2 names, 1 for each possible gender) for their baby. They won't tell anyone what they are, but Mr. Dr. Crane did tell us this: While both names are relatively common, neither Crane has ever had a student with either of those names. I thought maybe I'd go down the name-frequency lists and cross off names of their students, but then I realized there's no way I can get lists of every student either of them has ever had. Oh well.

[0]At first I just wrote "the Cranes" here, then I decided to write "the Dr. Cranes", but then I realized that ought to be "the Drs. Crane". Well, maybe "the Dr. Cranes" is OK too, but it doesn't sound as cool. :D

There are some days when I get the feeling that there are very few sane
people left in the world, and I'm not one of them.
