Yay! I got digested as a supplicant for 1352-02!

Martha Stewart is guilty on all counts. Yay! :D

Today was the field test for the science HSPAs. The rest of the HSPAs were easy, but this one was simply ridiculous. One question showed a v vs t graph, which was monotonically increasing, and asked whether the object's kinetic energy had gone up, down, or stayed the same. :P (There was a fourth choice, but I don't remember it.) The only chemistry question, IIRC, asked which of the following elements is least reactive: K, F, Sr, Ne. Well *gee*...

The open-ended question was to name 2 things trees exchange with their environment, and how, and why. Most people put O2 and CO2, of course, as did I. Other people put water or nutrients... Vlad put peace and love. :D (Hooray for field tests! :D )

They handed out these "reference sheets" which contained only:

A periodic table (as if you needed it) and the equations F=Gm1m2/r², F=ma, and... one other really pointless one I can't remember. You didn't need them, at all. Although you did need to know that force increases with acceleration. :P

Oh, I forgot to mention yesterday, instead of handing it back, Colin ate his Writer's Checklist. :D

"I give up," said Pierre de Fermat's friend. "How DO you keep a
mathematician busy for 350 years?"

You know, a lot of the people in my school were struggling with that test. It's pretty pathetic. And it seems like an incredibly bad idea to give a factual standardized test.

Gah, at first I forgot which entry I was reading and my immediate thought was "That doesn't really explain why she was diving off a roof into a pool..."... :P
