Frustrations
May. 31st, 2011 09:32 pmNope, installing a proper 64-bit OS on this thing did not somehow magically fix my hardware problems. As expected. (More properly, I was pretty certain were hardware problems, and this provides further evidence for that.) Will just have to send this thing back for repair/replacement... though I think I'll wait till July for that...
Here are two things annoying me recently:
1. How the hell do I capture audio output on Ubuntu? I'm still using Maverick, FWIW. I was trying it with Audacity but the precise program shouldn't really matter. I remember doing this years ago and it wasn't hard - though that was probably on Windows, not Linux. I can't find any way to capture audio from line out on Ubuntu. Barring the obvious hardware solution, of course. But this computer doesn't have a microphone jack so that's no good.
2. That mystery from two entries ago. I figured, there's no way I'm going to figure this out, I'll see if I can just ask Twitter about it. Problem: They don't seem to supply any way to get in contact with them for stuff like this! Not via email, anyway. I mean they must receive a ton of email anyway but it still stands a better chance of being read than a tweet to @twitter, I imagine. Who the hell can I ask about this?

Date: 2011-06-01 03:34 pm (UTC)I'll make sure to use a completely different email address which isn't linked to anything else, just to be sure.
