Duel 3! Let's Rock!
Jan. 31st, 2010 02:03 pm(Well, what did you expect me to call it?)
So today I played Guilty Gear (XXAC) again for the first time in many weeks. Nobody was around at first so I started up arcade mode... figured I'd play as Ky. I had started learning him shortly before winter break, thought I'd see if I could remember anything.
Well, I guess going with someone I had just started learning after many weeks of not playing wasn't such a good idea... my execution was *terrible*. Couldn't even do quarter-circles consistently. But after a bit Doug showed up and so I figured I'd switch to Slayer so as not to get slaughtered.
Anyway, that managed to get me a bit more warmed up, and now after playing it against actual people a bit, my Ky is not nearly so terrible as he was. Nowhere near *good*, obviously, but certainly usable against people here. Still not using many of his moves.
Not playing a while does seem to have partly cleared my Slayer habit of *always* following up a knockdown with a kick dandy step... half the point of using it is the mixup from the slash version, surely? So now I'm doing that some more. Actually playing Slayer vs. Slayer matches with Doug, had some funny exchanges where he would do a slash dandy step on me and then I'd counter it with one of my own (typically into Pilebunker).
...yeah, that's really all I have to say about that. Axl I really seem to have forgotten much of, but I was always pretty bad with him anyway.
