So... nobody has any plans for New Year's? Nobody? Default plan, then: just invite a bunch of random - well, semirandom - OK, not random at all, just a bunch of people from Glen Rock - over and do nothing specific like we always do, and perhaps stop in at the last minute to watch the ball drop.

Nick was invited and I believe he said he would come but he never showed up. Hm.

Mickey arrived while I was playing Nebulous/Toppler. I hadn't played that in a while, but I still managed to get up to level 7 ("The Nasty One") and then get absolutely stuck, like always. My parents left soon afterwards with a note to Mickey that he should make sure I ate dinner (being a hot dog and some French fries). I'm not quite sure what Mickey did on my computer in the meantime, but it definitely involved downloading a whole bunch of stuff. I think I'll have to check just *what* later. Kevin arrived, and I still hadn't eaten. I finally ate quickly - though I couldn't find the normal ketchup, and instead had to use the Passover ketchup, which, I later noticed, was 4 months past its expiration date.

Anyway I finally rejoined the others and You Don't Know Jack was suggested. Of course right then was when Peter arrived, making 4. So much for that idea - except, no, suggestion: let's have a YDKJ *tournament* (or mini-tournament, anyway). Much argument about which volume ensues and we finally settle on 3. I beat Mickey, Peter beats Kevin, I beat Peter. I don't really remember any details.

I suggest Munchkin, as I haven't gotten to play it yet - well, save the night before, against Ashley and Nick, but that didn't go so well. With 4 players, it went much better. Munchkin really is a great game. And none of us actually do any role-playing. :) Hehe. Much backstabbing ensues. Being a thief for much of the game, I often backstabbed people when they beat the monster by 1 largely just to annoy them. :) One thing I do remember (approximately):

Me: "Well, here comes a wandering monster - or rather, *3,872* wandering monsters!" *plays Wandering Monster and 3,872 Orcs*

Unfortunately Kevin had to leave early - who leaves a New Year's party before midnight?! - but he did, so we treated it as if he had died and then discarded his race and class. Peter eventually won when all 3 of us got up to level 9, but he was the first to draw a monster. (It was the Floating Nose, IIRC.)

At that point there was about 40 minutes left to midnight, so we played a game of Carcassone, at which Peter won and I got my ass kicked. Peter acted shocked when I actually called him "Sean" at one point, although I had definitely done so once earlier that night. We stopped it for a short bit to watch the ball drop - at which point I was getting kind of hungry and ran downstairs and got the 3 types of popcorn thing - normal, cheese (ich)[0], and caramel - and, after the game finished, with popcorn crumbs all over my carpet (hey there's one right now), Peter and then Mickey left. Mickey chose to walk home as usual. You'd think my parents would stop being surprised at that by now.

Which means this was the first party at my house in a long time where nobody played Chu-Chu Rocket.

...oh, and since it's now 2004, I can finally start using that calendar Peter got me for my birthday!

[0]Not that I don't like cheese or anything, but it's *awful* popcorn.

I was trying to download Sora no Koe, but none of those damned Fserves would work. People don't seem to care about their Fserves being properly configured anymore now that BT is around.

And...I thought it was 8,372 Orcs, not 3,872? I could be wrong. I still love that "Whine at the GM" card. I need to get a set of that...and all the expansion packs ...

Oh yeah...and you call that eating "quickly"? :-P

I don't remember the number. *goes to check* It is, in fact, 3,872. w00t, first guess!

*All* of them? Thosed'd be some pretty big decks... I wanna do that! :)

Well... er... uh... *somewhat* quickly.
