Today's lesson learned the hard way: When you *know* that you're a bad programmer, never let your program rename files automatically. (Thankfully it appears to have done no damage save for renaming my mail folder. Well, it probably did more, but I haven't come up against whatever problems that may have caused yet.)

The spring in our dishwasher is broken. I'm sure you don't care, but I just felt like writing that anyway.

Oh, and do you realize it has now been 3 weeks since the last Oracularities digest? What the hell? Is everybody's writing really *that* unfunny? Are all the priests on vacation? Has Kinzler fallen into a month-long sleep? This is ridiculous...

Apparently my sister now has an LJ. So far I have not been able to find it. (I have yet to try just going on her computer and checking the history.)

Okay, I told him.
He says he doesn't know Perl and he'd rather spend his time writing bigger programs.

I care, sniffnoy. I care.

That's "you're"...well, there are other mistakes, but nothing else that couldn't be considered acceptable for conversational internet-talk...

I once challenged a friend, who didn't know the name of my LJ, to find it. It wasn't hard; he searched for things he knew to be relatively obscure interests of mine, and sifted through the profiles when small numbers of journals were returned in the search. It took him about ten minutes; had be spelled Bjørn Lomborg's name correctly, he'd have gotten it in about 60 seconds.

Bwahaha, I'm quoted!

About the Oracle thing...why not just take the matter into your own hands and write something funny? :-P

Riiiight... how about *you* try writing enough digest-worthy material to get it published early (or, in this case, late)?
