TANSTAAFL reopens; Kongai deck thoughts

sniffnoyTANSTAAFL reopened this Monday under the management of one Colin Bohan (of Henderson, I think?). It is... rather elaborate. So, yay, we have cheap snacks again. Well, soda's now 75¢, but I guess that's to be expected. (And somehow, like Dani, he didn't think to get any lemon-lime soda... but he will now, so yay. Also he has this Mexican soda, Jarritos, the lime flavor of which is quite good - but it costs a dollar.) And candy (but thankfully not chips) is now 75¢, too - which, uh, is 5 cents more expensive than the vending machine. How long do you think it'll take someone to point that out to him? And mozzarella sticks are back along with... well, lots of stuff. TANSTAAFL is operational once again.
So I think I need to replace the Marquis in my Kongai deck, or at least take him out of the starter slot; so many people using (and opening with) Vanessa and Corny! He spends so much time sitting out of battle; and I also think he's just not nearly as good as I thought he was. But who to replace him with? Right now I'm thinking probably Corny, as I could use someone who can cast a debuff. And I'm thinking I'll equip him with the Blood Vial if I do. But do I want him in the starter slot? Perhaps I should switch that to Higashi. He seems a better starter overall; however, it occurs to me that in the very common case of my opponent opening with Vanessa and Corny, there are certain advantages to *not* opening with Higashi... hm...
