Today I arrived back in Chicago. Hey, guess what? The storage room closes at 3PM! So I'm without much of my stuff. Such as, for instance, toothbrush and toothpaste, or sheets or pillows - well, luckily I have the sheet that goes over the mattress itself, though in any case I could always just sleep in the lounge.

I remembered the existence of folders, and so now my room does have some slight decoration - I took those drawings that I have from Linda Cai and now have them on my bulletin board here. I'm sure they will confuse many people.

What stuff I do have is thanks to Colin and the many others who helped me retrieve it from his place. Note I don't have back yet the stuff that was moved to Aviva's apartment; that stuff I will retrieve tomorrow. It turned out to be surprisingly easy to get stuff back from Colin's apartment, considering how hard it was to get it there. This may have to do with the fact that I had a lot of people to help me.

Most people seem to be back; notably, Youlian is not. I'll return to this in a moment.

Also, I saw Jim's axe. It is not red, and it is not very sharp, but it is an axe, and that is cool. Also it seems Nadja has returned, but Aviva is taking a quarter off?

As for Smash: We are without a Wii for now, though Winston intends to have the house buy one. Meanwhile, we have Melee and 64 Smash. I actually seem to be the best at 64 Smash right now, what with everyone who was actually good at it gone. I remembered how to play Kirby pretty damn quickly. At Melee, well, I'm horrible anyway, plus I'm pretty damn rusty - it took me a while to remember how to play either of my characters...

Now for the Starcraft part of the entry... so two of the first-years are from Korea, of whom I've met one, Chang-Hee. Chang-Hee plays Starcraft. Well, when Winston found out about this, he went nuts. An actual Starcraft-playing Korean? He had to test himself against him. (And notably, Youlian will presumably return tomorrow.) Winston says he's not very good, Chang-Hee says he's really not very good.

Finally Winston manages to get Chang-Hee to play against him. Everyone who was there goes up to watch. However, his computer needs to be set up, so in the meantime Winston starts playing a game on Battle.net.

Well, this game started taking a really long time. Though it's interesting, I'm going to cut for now the description of the game as I'm tired and don't have the memory for it - it was a damn long game. When Winston finally surrenderred, we found the game had gone on for a full hour. Of course Chang-Hee had been watching once things were finally set up, and he was convinced he was not nearly at Winston's level.

Finally, they were to play. They were in the same room so of course they were wearing headphones, so for us spectators (or who was left of us) it was completely silent, a somewhat eerie contrast with before. But yeah, Chang-Hee is not terrible (like, say, me) but he lost pretty quickly.

(But for now one noticeable excerpt from the 1-hour game: Peter commenting, "How about you make queens, Winston? You've made every other goddamn unit!" (Quote perhaps not exact.) Not quite true at the time he said it, but by the time the game ended, he'd used everything except queens and devourers. After he said that we kept insisting he make queens just because it would be funny.)
