Mega Man 9. For WiiWare. After all these other Mega Man series, they're now going back and doing Mega Man 9. Really. With an old-style ridiculous "Wily has built 8 Robot Masters which are causing havoc, but has framed someone else!" story instead of the ridiculous stuff found in Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero and whatever the hell they have these days.
That's not the strange part.
The strange part is that it's being done all 8-bit style. Including the music. After they already had the 32-bit Mega Man 8, and Mega Man 7 on the SNES. Maybe they think those games left a bad taste in people's mouths, and they don't want something that even looks like them?
Oh, and one of the Robot Masters is "Splash Woman". Interesting, except, uh, not that interesting. She'll have a water-themed level and a water-themed weapon, I'm sure, and... uh... anything else? That she happens to be "Woman" seems, well, entirely irrelevant - certainly compared to Mega Man X's "each boss is a different animal".
(The others are Magma Man, Galaxy Man, Jewel Man, Concrete Man, Hornet Man, Plug Man, and Tornado Man. So, yeah, unoriginal and/or nonsensical. As you'd expect.)
But, still, pretty cool. We'll see how it turns out.
