A new threat

sniffnoySo as I pass Winston in the hallway I steal his slipper. I put it on top of a pipe outside Mike's door. This is on the 3rd floor. (I think this may be the first-years' first exposure to my shoe-stealing habit.)
Naturally sometime afterward he comes asking, where's the shoe? I'm in my room (on the 4th floor), so I say, it is down, then up. What? Down, then up. OK, OK, it's on the third floor. But that's not enough, so he takes my shoe, and hides in Amelia's room for a short time.
He asks about it some more, and I give hints a bit more specific - this in the lounge so other people hear. In particular, Aaron goes to look for it. He makes a quick check of the third floor but doesn't see it, so he decides to try a new method. He goes and gets his pot, puts it on the stove, and starts boiling some water. No! Don't boil my shoe! It's inbetween there (*points*) and there (*points*). Winston doesn't react. ...OK, it's outside Mike Steinert's room! This, he goes to check. I turn off the stove.
Only... it isn't there. Aaron moved it. "It's on the 4th floor," Aaron tells him. Winston continues to carry around my shoe. I'm wondering if he's still going to boil it - Aaron moved it!, I repeat to him. So he goes to Aaron's room, takes his shoe, and gives me mine back.
But as he's passing through the lounge, Mike steals back Aaron's shoe. So Winston goes and takes Mike's shoe. He never got to the real threat of boiling it, though, as he soon found his slipper, which Aaron had relocated to Winston's own room.
