About time they finally announced it, no?

But why no names or communication in global Brawl? That's just stupid. And you can forget about global leaderboards or anything.

Still, very cool.

And yes, I realize I'm late again.

Unrelatedly: I wonder if The Eye of Judgment is the first game to be listed both on GameFAQs and on BGG?

Anonymous online multiplayer is in fact standard practice for Nintendo. They had one brief game in which they allowed some degree of expression, and that was Mario Kart DS, which allowed each user to create an avatar in an icon. The amount of penises and vaginas that resulted was a little too much for their intended audience. :-P

If it's anything like DS multiplayer, it will only allow people to communicate with people who can prove they know each other in real life. On DS games, that involves a unique code for each copy of the game, and a similar thing will probably be used here--either that, or it'll interface with the Wii's built-in friend system.

That is in fact exactly what they're doing.

I am pissed as a PC online player from Doom II to Ultima to Quake III Arena, that these new gen X-Box Live Parasites are all bitchy about no voice chat.

Fucking hell. >,<;
