Paintball not in good condition

I had thought PTC's sponsorship of paintball would obviate Bill and Dave's opposition to it. Apparently not, as today's house meeting showed. We have, we are told, about $1400. Bill and Dave insist that we end the year with at least $1000 so we can buy T-shirts and have them by the end of the year so we can begin selling them immediately. Obviously we can't get Tancer to finance it, as in past years, and apparently we can't wait till next year. (Grant suggested that we just, you know, get less than $1000 worth of T-shirts, but that didn't meet with too much enthusiasm.) I said, look, say we do a $30 subsidy. We get - due to PTC limits - at most 20 people, $600. With actual current interest levels, probably considerably less. But no, even the specter of $600 is too much for the RHs. $20, then. At most $400. That should be OK. And yet, this does not meet with popular approval. Interest levels, even with the reduced price, are simply too low. We eventually approve a $10 subsidy. Hopefully we'll be able to increase that, and get more people too.
Also, the intra-Pierce lottery was today; Mike Boylan and Wilson both took singles in Shorey (!), though Mike Boylan says that he really wants to move to Maclean or Breck. (I haven't spoken to Wilson.)
