In the comments a few entries ago - the "Excess" entry - Matt noted sometimes he had seen "range" used to mean "codomain", and, now that I look, actually, that's what Munkres does.
Also, it occurs to me that as "range" is ambiguous and "codomain" isn't at all suggestive of what it means, I think the best term for it is probably "target set/space".
