OK, enough stupid dramatic pauses.

So Jim tells me it takes on the order of 3 weeks to grow a beard. Had I known it would take that long, I probably wouldn't have agreed to it in the first place. ...actually, I probably still would have, because I probably wouldn't have thought that too bad. Regardless, I'm stuck with it. I have to say I don't like it much at all. There shouldn't be hair there!

Thankfully I at least won't have to pay a barber to get rid of it; Jim says you can easily cut it down with a mustache trimmer.

Man, I'm probably eventually going to have to start showering or washing my face to wash out stuff that's gotten stuck in it... ew... I imagine it doesn't need to be fully grown to trap stuff...

Well, at least Girl Alex - who, you'll recall, is who originally insisted I grow it - likes it so far. Also, with Dan having shaved his beard, there have been cries that someone else needs to grow one so we always have a house beard... guess I'm serving that purpose... though once it's out and I get rid of it, they'll have to find someone else to do that.

In other news, Aaron, deciding his TV wasn't really getting much use, has put it - along with his PS2, Gamecube, VCR, and giant tub of video games - in the lounge! Now we have two TVs! Neither actually picks up any TV signals (it seems that a few weeks ago someone severed the cable connecting the TV to the antenna on the roof), but the consoles are now split between them - though a good configuration of them has yet to be reached.

We had decided in house meeting to buy a new TV - well, except that it's not finalized yet, as we can't actually make allocations for nonspecific amounts of money, and Ian is still researching TVs (I was supposed to, but I have no idea how to go about doing that). Will we still get one now that we have Aaron's? I am certainly in favor of doing so - Aaron won't be here forever, after all, and while part of the idea of getting a new TV was that we would have two TVs, the original purpose was simply to replace the old one; keeping the old one alongside it was just an added bonus. So I suggest we buy a new TV, and keep the old one, then - for now, anyway - we have three! And when Aaron eventually leaves we'll still have two.

This still leaves the problem of repairing the TV's connection; I have no idea what to do about that, but presumably someone does.
