Wherein Facebook is creepy

So some time ago, back during the school year, Alex decided to leave Facebook. Recently, though, I searched my friends list for "Alex" and found her listed once again. OK, so she rejoined... with everything restored to exactly how it was. Oh, I figured, they must store this stuff for some time (say several months) after you leave so if you rejoin they can restore it. Strangely, though, the Facebook FAQ makes no mention of how long they store it for... in fact, it makes it sound like they'll keep it arbitrarily long. Now they obviously can't *actually* do that, but still you'd think they'd be at least slightly interested in reclaiming disk space.
