The death track

So I was playing F-Zero X, GP Mode, X Cup. For those of you unfamiliar with the game, X Cup actually consists of *randomly generated* tracks. They're generally easier than the designed tracks (there are some elements of the designed tracks that they will never include), though they can include some real nastiness with sharp turns.
Anyway. So the race begins, I'm going forward, and then, bam, I fall off the track. And so does everyone else. By the time the "RETIRE" sequence finishes, only 3 computers have survived.
So I do it again. And this time, I go really slow. Every single computer goes flying off the track right at that point - it was a very sharp left turn combined with a sudden steep drop. I just went ridiculously slow.
But even though I was the only one left, it still made me complete the course! So I did. The rest of the track was safe, but I went slow anyway.
And then - so you know how after you win, it puts your car under computer control, you can see it keep going? So after I won, the computer steered my car right off the track! I died after I won!
