What? I go to school?
Feb. 3rd, 2006 02:49 pmlex and yacc are cool but really weird.
Hilbert spaces are nicer than I had expected.
Mr. Sally seems to occasionally define things for digressions that he never actually goes on.
I have been sacrificing my sleep to Super Mario 64. So far I have 100 stars. I'm glad I'm only taking 3 classes. I'm also regetting all the secrets in Jet Grind Radio. The Dreamcast is also now actually seeing some use by someone other than me as Jack is always playing Virtua Tennis 2 on it now.
I hope Tennis isn't graded like Swimming (pass-fail, all that's required to pass is to show up all but 2 times), or I've already failed. Well, presumably there's some way to make up an absence.
They say that most of the other houses here are much more boring than Tufts.
I need to get back to that pseudo-parallelogram law problem that was supposed to be due this week but which only 2 or 3 people got, so Mr. Sally gave a hint.
My mom got me some games I wanted for Hanukkah; finally they arrived. Sticheln, Coloretto, Balloon Cup, Munchkin Dice. I'm not getting Munchkin 4. The cards Munchkin Dice adds are kind of neat - well, specifically I think the "Dark" race modifier is pretty cool (if you aid a monster against a player, and the player loses, you go up a level; if the player dies, it can be the winning level!), the rest are kind of eh, the "High" race modifier looks overpowered (whenever you win a combat - did it have to be alone? Probably - you can forgo the treasure (assuming there is any) for an extra level).
Mr. Sally is not going to Paris for the Spring quarter after all, he's staying here to teach us all sorts of Fourier analysis. Oh boy...
Lucas is sitting in on a topology class; I need to think of these things.
If I can't start games of Sticheln here, I really will try to start a board game club. I even made a crappy little flyer in Microsoft Word. That reminds me, I need to install Linux on this thing sometime. cygwin works, but not always so well.
Yay for actually reading something understandable in Hum once more. Yay for getting a B on the first essay despite it being a total rush job. Boo for minor Hum things always being due Tuesday rather than Thursday and me always failing to turn them in. Speaking of Tuesdays, I'm going to have no idea what's going on in Tennis this Tuesday, I bet. Oh well.
Copies are expensive here.
This computer never quite shuts down entirely properly anymore. All the more reason to install Linux on the thing.
Dire, Dire Docks annoys me greatly.
I think that's all.

Date: 2006-02-04 11:12 am (UTC)Mr. Sally seems like a kick ass prof.
Can't comment on the houses bit, but it's probably true.
I think you can sell all your treasure to gain a level after a conflict if you helped someone out when using the "High" modifier (even if they don't give you all the treasure :^D).
Sitting in on classes is fun (and saves an assload of money)!
You NEED to start a game club; I'm surprised one doesn't already exist.
And finally...WHY ISN'T LINUX ALREADY ON YOUR SYSTEM?!?! lol

Date: 2006-02-05 01:12 am (UTC)Then there's the problem with "Just what, exactly, is the current size of this partition?", but that's a story for another time...

Date: 2006-02-05 01:20 am (UTC)You wouldn't think someone in a wheelchair could be so intimidating.
I don't leave the house often enough to know. :P
Wow. Way overpowered. Of course, as Tom points out, Munchkin is horribly unbalanced anyway (Kneecaps of Allure, anyone?), but still.
Unfortunately, it requires effort to think of.
I know! It's ridiculous! However, as that requires organizational work, I'm avoiding it pretty much as much as I can - well, no, that would mean not doing it at all - really that I even made that stupid flyer is pretty uncharacteristic of me - so I think I'm going to wait another week or two. For, oh, I don't know what. Something good to happen. Then I'll actually get to copying. I'll write that down. February 11th will be the day of copying! Or approximately so!
