sniffnoy: (Chu-Chu Zig)
Frostdancer, unarmed, vs. Siennya, carrying no melee weapons. After one turn of missing each other, they somehow manage to reduce each other to 1 health.

Now, Frostdancer is one of our best melee fighters - best fighters overall due to the general lack of guns. (Again, we need to start playing longer games!) We don't want her to die. She certainly has the advantage over Siennya, but do we want to take that chance?

Well, yes, we do, because Siennya is also carrying a giant freaking crossbow and as soon as Frostdancer turns to run she gets shot straight through the back and dies horribly.

Also, the Martians can't seem to hit a damn thing.

(Team Black, me and Peter, lost to Team White, Grant and Nadja. Basically we were ahead until they killed Frostdancer... then we were tied. And then they eventually got Jack Sterling to the very out-of-the-way Colonial labyrinth and that got them the point they needed to win. At the very end, our last turn, we realize, only possible way to win is to kill one of their guys. Naturally, we can't hit them. So it comes down to a battle between Ardin Glynn (theirs), Agent 911 (ours), Kraator (ours), and one more of theirs that I forget. They try to kill our Bumbling Idiot, but of course they can't hit him. My guys focus on Glynn - Kraator misses. Glynn has 3 health. Green react, red armor. Agent 911 is, of course, unarmed. Being the Bumbling Idiot, he has red melee, black natural melee, for 2 damage. Meaning, in order to tie up the game, I'll have to first roll a 5 or less to hit - it would be 4 or less, but he is the Bumbling Idiot - and then! Should I hit! I'll need an amaze to deal 3 damage - 6 to squeak, so I'll need an exact 2 or 5 (idiot powers again) to kill him. Of course, I don't even make the hit roll, so that doesn't come up, and they win.)
