The Shoreland video game tournament
Jan. 21st, 2006 05:30 pmSo some time ago the Shoreland video game tournament was announced - tournaments in, IIRC, Melee, Halo 2, DDR, and maybe something else. Nobody in Tufts signed up, except for Marissa, for DDR and Melee. At the time I figured nobody was signing up for Melee because Tufts house prefers original Smash so much, which is pretty stupid... I figured I'd sign up, but I forgot about it. The tournament was to be at 12:30 today. Yesterday Marissa tells me she's not entering, I recall I had forgotten about it, and it's suggested I should take her place. *Someone* has to represent Tufts in Melee, after all. She emails them to say I'll be doing so. Anyway, it's about 12:20 today and I see Marissa and she asks why I haven't left yet. "It's at 12:30," I say. "12:30 sharp," she says, "and Shoreland is 15 minutes away."
...ShoreLAND?! I had thought it was the Shorey video game tournament! Well, I don't want to go all the way to Shoreland, I won't get there in time, and what do I care if Tufts isn't represented at a Shoreland tournament? I don't care about the Shoreland. So, I didn't go either.
In other news, Wei left the following comments on his website regarding the latest problem set:
Two outrageous claims that lots of you made on the homework:
(1) If F is closed, then F=closure of interior of F
(2) R[x] is countable.
Repent.
