College Admissions Weirdness
Feb. 17th, 2005 07:15 pmToday I got a letter from the University of Rochester, saying I have been admitted to their class of 2009, and that I am one of but 50 applicants being considered for a full-tuition scholarship.
Now, Rochester was considered a safety school for me, so in a way that's not too surprising. There's just one thing.
I didn't apply.
Yes, I sent part of the application (the Common App part), but I never did the supplement and I never paid the application fee.
And now they're considering wasting a full-tuition scholarship on me. Well, I better go tell them to go cancel that...
Today, last period, I was walking away from the senior hallway, and Eric Kim happened to walk in and release a very loud scream. "Wow," I said loudly, turning around, "What was that?" Ms. Lawler came out, saying, "It was unacceptable behavior, that's what it was. Akira, did you do that?" "What?" "Was it one of you [Emily and Sara]... no, it was a boy. Harry, was it you?" "If it had been me, I wouldn't have had the breath to immediately follow it with 'Wow, what was that?'" And, completely ignoring Eric, she says "Oh, I suppose it was one of the boys in the bathroom then." I walk away.
