sniffnoy: (Chu-Chu Zig)
You know what's really weird? Long hair. So Emily is sitting next to me in math class, and her head is on the table, and coming down off the side of it is *hair*. And I look at it, without looking at Emily. And I realize: hair, by itself, doesn't look like a person. Why does it have to be *her* hair? This hair is so far away from her head, she probably can't even feel it. I start flicking at it. She doesn't notice a thing.

That must be pretty weird, to have this entire *numb* part of your body like that.

Addendum: Actually, on second thought, I suppose it's really not much different from wearing a backpack. Only, a backpack transmits force a bit better, and it isn't actually a part of you...

(18:03:32) dyddykong: oh i asked my parents
(18:03:40) dyddykong: unfortunately we're going to california that weekend
(18:03:43) Sniffnoy: !
(18:04:12) Sniffnoy: that's funny, Mr. Gupta said you had turned your form in
(18:04:17) dyddykong: um
(18:04:24) dyddykong: *reaches into pocket*
(18:04:28) dyddykong: *pulls out form*
(18:04:33) dyddykong: hmmm =/
(18:04:36) Sniffnoy: OK then
(18:04:42) dyddykong: well can you find someone in time?
(18:04:43) Sniffnoy: Josh did turn his in, it seems
(18:04:46) dyddykong: oh yea
(18:04:51) dyddykong: maybe he mistaked that
(18:05:14) dyddykong: well how much time do u still have considering this emergency status?
(18:05:18) dyddykong: i can ask around or something too
(18:05:39) Sniffnoy: yeah... Mr. Gupta knew Emi, Mark and I had turned it in, and knew that one other person had... I asked if it was you or Josh and he said you :P
(18:05:52) dyddykong: hmmm
(18:06:00) Sniffnoy: so I assume he just got mixed up
(18:06:11) dyddykong: most likely because mine is in my pocket =)
(18:06:31) Sniffnoy: unfortunately, getting someone else now would require them getting the form to Mr. Gupta somehow... I think I'll just not bother
(18:07:43) dyddykong: oh so the team is disbanded?
(18:07:45) dyddykong: thats a shame
(18:07:56) Sniffnoy: no, no, not at all
(18:07:59) Sniffnoy: we'll go with 4 people
(18:08:15) Sniffnoy: that's not a big problem
(18:08:18) dyddykong: oh ic
sniffnoy: (Chu-Chu Zig)
Well, not really.

So, Emi, Mark and I turned in our forms. As for the 5th? We got Fan - he did, in fact, call his mom and get her to come to the school and sign it. Let's hope he's any good on a buzzer.

Now as for Josh...

I turned in my form at the end of the day, when Mr. Gupta told me that only 4 had turned theirs in. "4... not including me?" "No, including you." Oy... well Emi did, I did, Mark did... who was the other? "It would be either Josh or Fan." "Ah, it was Fan."

Alright. So I can't find him. I'm waiting pretty much by his locker at the end of the day, when I realize I'm missing my lunchbox. I tell Chris and Andy to keep an eye out for him. I run down to Dr. Nevard's room, run back - neither Chris nor Andy has seen him, but as I get back there, I ask generally if anyone has seen Josh - Mark has, and he went that way[0]. Which probably means he went out to the north lot. Oy...

So, I get home, I read the comics, I call Josh, using, of course, the number in the Stalker Book, the same number I used yesterday. His mom answers, and tells me - well, something I can't really understand (her English is not too good), but I'm able to make out that this is actually their car phone and that she's driving on the highway right now. So she tells me their home phone - or rather, 6 digits of it. "Could you repeat that?" Same 6 digits. "I'm sorry, could you just repeat the last 4 digits?" She repeats the whole thing, just as it was before. "There must be another digit. That's not a valid phone number." Well, she can't help me any further than that with the number, but she tells me that I can call that number again at 6.

Then of course there's the matter of Josh actually getting his form to Mr. Gupta... he'll have to scan it in (hoping he has a scanner) and email it to him, I suppose? Of course, we don't know that Mr. Gupta checks his email... so now we have the problem of finding his phone number. Mom said he wasn't in the phone book...
