Have any of you ever heard of a Mr. St*nton Grah*m[0], and if so, why is this guy subbing at our, or for that matter any, school?

At first I was wondering if he was a real teacher, but then I saw his ID and realized he was - though his ID was gold instead of blue (?!) - at which point I started wondering if perhaps he was on drugs (actually I had started wondering that earlier, but, um, I forget my point here).

So in AP Chem today we did the electrochemical series lab, where we took a bunch of different metals, put them in a bunch of different solutions, and saw which ones reacted (so we can figure out their order in the electrochemical series). Afterward we went and put the remaining magnesium in the remaining HCl. :D

Oh gee. I never did wash my hands after that lab. Well, I don't think I ever *did* touch the lead myself.

Bah. Why are they called "mercurous" and "mercuric" instead of "hydrargous" and "hydrargic"? Also why "antimonide" instead of "stibide" ("stibiide"?). (No, we weren't working with those, I just asked Ostfeld about those names. :P )

[0]Who knows, he could be searching for his name.
