So today I managed to break a glass at dinner, the second glass I've broken here since I've arrived.

Also, I managed to lock myself out of my room - *by myself*. I was going to unlock my door so I could get in when I dropped my key, right up against the door. It hit the little rubber incline and slid under.

In other random stuff, apparently Bill's last name "Thistlethwaite" comes from his family once being lords of a small Welsh town called Thistlethwaite, after one of his ancestors won a victory against the Saxons there, who tried to fight naked in an area full of thistles. Pretty neat.

And 'thwaite' means 'clearing'! In Norse, I think. May have been Welsh or Saxon or something. I know someone named Cowperthwait. yeah etymology.
