sniffnoyWhich first-years must not see, and which is thus protected. I don't know how I forgot this, as it was such a big deal among the returning students... anyway. So when Glenn was asking how we knew that 4 was the only solution in Z to 2k=8, one boy in the front row answered, "We can use the Well-Ordering Principle-" and at about that point Glenn got him to be quiet. The returning students collectively gasped.
Of course, attempts to look up the Well-Ordering Principle will probably mostly result in them finding the wrong one... and nobody else has mentioned it since.
