There are quite a few things I want to write here, but I do not feel like writing much right now, so much of it will appear later.

Firstly, our Science Bowl team. Not as bad as last year, where we didn't even get to go, but, well, let's see, originally we were thinking me, Chris, Mark, Andy, and... who was the fifth? Josh Feng? Or was it Noam? Anyway, Chris and Andy both can't go because of JSA it turns out, so now we're reduced to me, Mark, Emi, Josh Feng, and a fifth, undecided person who probably will not come from the QB team.

Secondly, this neat dodecahedral 2005 calendar, made of paper, that Ingrid gave me. Or, as I call it, the dMonth. She actually didn't think of it as a die, apparently. One day on each month is marked; there doesn't seem to be any pattern.

Thirdly, the following exchange from Nomicron. See, we have this Hall of Quotations, for recording funny things the players have said. Anything incorrect in it, though, will be deleted. Currently (by accident) there is a proposal up to add a quote from November 11, 2005.

[Statement] If Proposal 22 passes, Breadman gets a dash of pears, but
the Quotation page created by Proposal 22 is immediately deleted.
[Arguments] I-30.2 states: "When a player's quotation is added to the
Hall of Quotations, that player gains a Dash of pears if the proposal
to add it was submitted by a different player."

BP-54.1 states: "If a quotation ever contains incorrect information,
it is immediately deleted."

The date 11-11-2005 is clearly incorrect. Although we cannot
logically state that it is false that Breadman says something on that
date, because it hasn't happened yet, it is clear that the intention
of the page is to quote what Breadman actually said on January 1,
2005. Therefore, the listed date is incorrect, regardless of whether
Breadman makes the quoted statement on November 11 or not. So the
page should be deleted, Q.E.D.

<quotation>

While I agree about the result, this argument is ridiculous. A
Quotation page says that the given player said the given quote on the
given date. If I say the same thing on January 1 and January 2, would
a Quotation quoting my January 2 utterance be deleted because, in fact,
I said that on January 1? That Breadman said it on January 1 has
nothing to do with whether or not he said it on November 11.

However, I agree the page would be deleted, as the BP-54.1 does use the
past tense. We do not know whether or not Breadman *will* say it on
November 11, 2005, but we know that *has not* said it on November 11,
2005. (Consider all the times he has said it. Were any of them on
November 11, 2005?)

It's great when people think for me.

Coming later: Rumors about what happened on the ski trip, and my sister's description of what actually happened. Vlad actually comes to QuizBowl practice[0]. A piece of the board room table. Another Galitskiy quote, possibly more than one. Possibly other stuff I don't remember right now.

[0]Actually, there won't be any more about this; that's really kind of the whole story.
