sniffnoyThe baby was supposed to shut off around 23:00 last night, but somehow it still ended up going off at 6:00 today. Well, it's returned now, so yay.
Avi told me a rather bizarre story today. He had his Harvard interview at a Korean restaurant - why he didn't just tell the guy he kept kosher, I don't know, but so it was, and of course he didn't really know what was in the food, and he sees on the menu cornbread. "How bad could it be?" he figures. So, he gets some cornbread, eats it, and, after he's done, finally gets a look at the ingredients. The first one was flour. The rest of the ingredients included, among many other things, fudge, white bean paste, black bean paste, almonds, peanut butter, ketchup, tuna, sausage, and the last ingredient, ham. Actual corn was the second-to-last ingredient.
Today Dr. Nevard referred to 2x2 Jacobians as "baby Jacobians", in contrast to larger Jacobians. Later I was thinking, what other Jacobians could produce baby Jacobians? Well, obviously, as Jacobians are square matrices[0], obviously it must be 2 other 2x2 Jacobians... which means that baby Jacobians come from other baby Jacobians! :-/
