Oh yeah, that's right, there's that essay that Bajwa wanted us to write that's due tomorrow that I totally forgot about...

And I should probably work on college essays...

Maybe I should actually do some of the math homework...

Well, I suppose I won't be watching the baseball game, then...

Yay college essays!
Do you yet know what you're going to be writing about for Chicago?

The language one. The essay's not really all that unusual. My answer to the second short essay, though, is interesting: it's written in the style of David Moser's "This Is the Title of This Story, Which Is Also Found Several Times in the Story Itself". *g*

What is "the language one"? And what's the question for the short essay? I didn't actually know the topics. I haven't heard of this David Moser character, but it reminds me of a song called "Title of the Song."

The language one:
People often think of language as a connector, something that brings people together by helping them share experiences, feelings, ideas, etc. We, however, are interested in how language sets people apart. Start with the peculiarities of your own personal language— the voice you use when speaking most intimately to yourself, the vocabulary that spills out when you’re startled, or special phrases and gestures that no one else seems to use or even understand—and tell us how your language makes you unique. You may want to think about subtle riffs or idiosyncrasies based on cadence, rhythm, rhyme, or (mis)pronunciation.

The question for the second short essay:
Tell us about a few of your favorite books, poems, authors, films, plays, pieces of music, musicians, performers, paintings, artists, magazines, or newspapers. Feel free to touch on one, some, or all of the categories listed or add a category of your own.

This Is the Title of This Story,
Which Is Also Found Several Times in the Story Itself

(I do hope that's not copyright violation or anything.)
