Harry on the VP debate
Oct. 5th, 2004 10:31 pmFirst Cheney was winning, then Edwards caught up, then Edwards was winning, then Cheney caught up, then I stopped watching when the moderator asked Cheney how he was different from Edwards.
One thing's for certain, though: Cheney could definitely out-debate Bush. Why can't he be the one running for president?

Date: 2004-10-05 07:43 pm (UTC)The reason is that Cheney is too smart to be a good candidate. He has a negative, fierce, uncharismatic image, one that doesn't speak to common people strongly. Bush may be stupid, but he speaks in terms that stupid people like him can understand, which is why he appeals to swing voters.
