DONE! DONE DONE DONE! It is OVER, and GONE, and... I don't know what else to put in here, but I feel greatly relieved.

I have already deleted (or rather, made private; actually deleting things is not something I like to do) the original January 11th entry (that's why I said there was *very definitely* no January 11th entry instead of just no January 11th entry). Other references to it are cryptic and part of other entries, and if I got rid of them, I wouldn't be able to recover them. Maybe I should get rid of some of the entries leading up to January 11th, though.

Now I will never speak of it again. Unless someone else brings it up first, of course. Which I hope they won't.

I can't make you all forget it happened, of course, but I think for most practical purposes, we can act as if it didn't, no?

Now the only thing wrong with my life is my history grade. (Well, of course, there are the older things, such as that life is much more boring than it was last year, but of course I've already adapted to those... really I'm no longer shocked by my history grade either, but I'm actually working to improve that, so it's not like I don't care about it anymore.)

Now I will make sure never to do anything like that again. If I do anyway, please hit me repeatedly.

And if you don't know what I'm referring to, good.

*phew*

You know what I don't get? Why does being scared make you have to go to the bathroom? I mean, what's the use for that?

Oh, there's something of a hole in the last 2 entries, in that I forgot to mention that Ed Early visited the school again on Thursday. Apparently they really are thinking of hiring him. And he plans to teach a bunch of electives. That'll be nice.

I think I will be going to ARML after all.

:-/ The point of that entry was supposed to be to *end* the suspense... I suppose I was a bit too cryptic?

January 4th? Nothing happened on January 4th...
Aww...

Ed Early visited the school again on Thursday. Apparently they really are thinking of hiring him.
Massive coolness. WAY massive coolness.

I think I will be going to ARML after all.
You suck. At life.

Best of luck with your history grade and, uh, whatever else in which luck would be useful.

I believe that Quayle quote is apocryphal; it's been attributed falsely to Al Gore and George W. Bush as well.

Meh. Yeah, I can't find a source for it, now that I look for one. OK, there goes that one...

How about my entry on why butter is better than margarine? :D

It's a safe bet that Quayle quotes are apocryphal until proven otherwise; very few of them actually prove out. I think this has something to do with his demeanor; he was (and presumably still is) a guy who sounded callow even when saying perfectly reasonable things (which he did occasionally, a broken clock being right twice a day and all). So all manner of stupidity sounded plausibly Quayle-esque.

The brain trust at my favorite blog, The Volokh Conspiracy, frequently debunks Slate's "Bushism of the Day," which is often so inaccurate or so severely decontextualized that it's hard to justify.

My theory has always been that people have to pee when they're scared because if a predator is coming after you, they may be less inclined to eat you (and thus less inclined to attack you) if you're covered with urine.

Anyway, why this huge change of mind since January 11th?

Hmph. I think I know what happened on that day, but since you apparently don't want people to know, I'll keep my mouth shut and my fingers unmoving.

I suppose he can keep his mouth shut all he wants but still be communicating stuff if sitting in front of a computer.

Well I don't see what his fingers have to do with that, as he types with his toes, of course.

Right Mickey? :D
