Whee! Went to see Princeton today. Chance of getting in is minimal, admittedly, but wow. I got to visit a linear algebra class taught by *John Conway* (Thank you Jess!). He wasn't quite so amazing a lecturer as Jess made him out to be (not today anyway), but still... and I was actually able to follow most of it too, although the fact that I still have not the slightest clue what an eigenvalue is didn't exactly help very much.

/me goes to look up "eigenvalue"

/me gets sidetracked and reads Wikipedia's entry on Rock, Paper, Scissors instead

Oh, I just remembered I left a few details out of 2 entries down. Must edit that.

I also finally finished Name that Number (did I ever actually mention I was stuck on that one?) - stupid thing, it shouldn't have worked on my computer, it *should* have looped infinitely, I have no clue why it didn't. I think. Whatever. It works now. Yeah, that was kind of stupid, to not notice that I had forgotten to tell the thing to break out of the loop when it hit the end of the dictionary...

I went to Conway's linear algebra class a few weeks ago. I thought he was fantastic.

Lol no prob. Glad you enjoyed it.

Though I don't think I quite said he was amazing (since I've never actually been in the class)... I said he was "insane and crazy" as a lecturer :)

Not very crazy today... although he spent some time talking about the Latin prefix "sesqui" and where it came from and words that began with it, like the infamous "sesquipedalian". :)
