I guess I expected a perpetual game of Smash. Well, that expectation was wrong. I have no idea when the other Smash players tend to actually play, it sure doesn't seem to be a lot, though. Though I have been pretty holed up in my room these past few days, so maybe I've always just missed it? (Also, some guy played a ridiculous Diddy Kong against my Ness; he just controlled the game with his bananas! He didn't 3-stock me, but it was still a real beating.) Of course, most people still aren't here.
I did see some people playing Ticket to Ride the other day, so yay, far from the only boardgamer here. Again, most people still aren't here, and so that one game was all I saw. Haven't really tried to start anything, as, well, there doesn't often seem to be a good concentration of people yet. :-/
I also finally got around to bringing down the Dreamcast, playing some Mr. Driller... introduced some other people to that. :)
Meanwhile, of course, I am having to wake up each day for our crash course in how to teach basic math classes. Man, you know they have a "pre-calculus" course here? How do you spend a whole semester on that? Well, we do apparently try to put more focus on actually understanding things here than they do in high school. Meanwhile we are having to do practice presentations every day, which I should have foreseen, but didn't. We don't have a lot of time before we start, so we kind of have to...
