Not Not Soccer
Oct. 9th, 2003 06:19 pmDespite not having actually talked to him since PROMYS,
jonpin's Red Sox fandom seems to have rubbed off on me through his LJ. Hehe, I don't think I've ever actually deliberately watched baseball before.
So, we finally got a new gym teacher. You see, the gym teacher we were supposed to have was - on maternity leave I believe? - and in the meantime we had the long term sub of Mrs. Patton (sp?). As I've (probably) said before, she didn't enforce any of the rules, and the result was to actual soccer as randomly moving pieces and occasionally capturing was to chess. But today we got a new permanent gym teacher - no clue what's happening to the original one - Mr. Skorchola (sp???)[3]. Unlike Mrs. Patton, he actually made us run around the track and stretch before playing, and he actually made us follow (most of) the normal rules. Most of the people were complaining afterward how tired they were, but it wasn't that bad. Well, admittedly I was goalie, but still... :)
Rather strange. Today I got an email from somebody - at first I thought it was spam and deleted it, then I went back and looked at it - containing a George W. Bush quote, a Dan Quayle quote, and - and this the key thing - a note that this person knows a different version of one of the Dan Quayle quotes in my sigfile (specifically, the one about losing one's mind).
Now, I haven't replied to this person yet, but who the hell is this, why haven't they identified themselves, and who could possibly be so bored as to send me corrections to my sigfile?!

[3] I am almost certainly spelling this wrong as I have not the slightest clue how this is spelled.
