Holy crap, the Kongai expansion is here. The first part of it, anyway - just the pirates have been added, but all the original cards have been updated. Valkyrie's Charm has been nerfed, Ubuntu's innate has been nerfed, Tiger Claws now has a different effect *entirely*... (Hm, I bet they weren't intended for a game where only some of the new characters existed.)

Here I thought balance testing wasn't even close to done. But I'm guessing there will probably still be modifications to come... I didn't start playing Kongai until after they had stopped making changes so they could work on the expansion, so I am not used to having to reevaluate a few matchups every now and then... meanwhile, suddenly I have to reevaulate a *lot* of matchups, not to mention learn the workings of 5 whole new characters!

...man, if only I, you know, had time to actually play! I'm gonna go get myself a copy of Starbuck and then maybe try him against the computer to see how he works, but after that I'd best get back to grading...

Addendum: Just noticed the title screen now has the artwork for even the still-unreleased characters! Awesome!
Also: Cursed Doubloons means it's now possible to have energy that's not a multiple of 5. Wonder how much harder that'll make the mental bookkeeping? Also I'd forgotten that the computer is so stupid that playing against it tells you basically nothing about how a matchup actually plays. :P Also is just me or has the artwork shrunk?
