It's the start of seventh week and we only now just proved unique factorization of ideals in algebraic number rings. He says next we'll start L-series, but from the sound of it it doesn't look like we'll be doing them over anything but the integers, and it doesn't look like we're going to tie this together, or really do much algebraic number theory at all...
The space whistle Ingrid gave me broke today - or at least today was the first time I noticed it was broken. I tried to blow it but it made only a weird buzzing noise; at first I thought I had used the wrong end. Too bad. I'll have to tell Supriya.
I seem to get a lot of cankersores. I wonder if this is a problem.
Our combinatorics class has now come to the problem of chromatic number and girth - but I suppose since this isn't an infinitary combinatorics class this time around, we'll instead be doing the finite side of the problem.
