Sorry, but the title "...and variables don't" just doesn't fit this entry. Someday, perhaps, I will write an entry with that title, but it won't be preceded by an entry called "Constants aren't...". Maybe I'll have it follow an entry called "I'm not going to complete the next entry's title..." instead.
So, things that have happened.
Apparently someone in Max has an advance copy of Brawl; Ryan and Wes were there and played it. Of course, it comes out in a week anyhow.
Sarah Entreken has taken a leave of absence once again. Can't say I expected that. Ha, the house meeting where she announced it, immediately after she did so, I burst in from the back and tried to headbutt Colin; everyone told me it was a really bad time, and I had no idea why. I didn't even find out she was leaving until considerably later.
Thirdly, Starcraft. In particular one game of Starcraft that Wai Lee and I played against Winston. I was Zerg, Wai Lee was Protoss, Winston was Terran. Now, I'm still quite awful at this game; in particular you will often see me with lots of minerals that aren't actually doing anything. So when late in the game my mineral production got entirely cut off due to some foolishness of mine, I entirely failed to notice, because I had so many minerals anyway. But I was basically out of gas. Well, late game, Zerg, tons of minerals... time to pump zergling! (Incidentally, it occurs to me that "crackling" (fully upgraded zergling) is spelled the same as "crackling" (participle of "crackle").) And, it worked. I annihilated all but one of his bases (though my tendency to not notice once they had done their job led to them sitting around being killed by his carriers). So, Winston's last base. He has been going around the map attacking Wai Lee and me with his carrier fleet, and I figure there's little I can do against them (seeing as I don't have the gas for scourge, or, well, anything), so, who needs defense? Counterattack! Which is what I was doing, but this last base is a problem, as my force has been significantly reduced, and... oh crap! Yeah, I'm not actually getting any minerals, I just had way more than I should, and I'm about to run out! In fact, I have less than 50! And most of the map is mined out - I should note, I don't expand nearly enough. So, I need to kill him with these remaining zerglings, as Wai Lee can't do much right now, his battlecruiser fleet having been wiped out by Winston's carriers. (Although, I've distorted things slightly - I didn't realize I had to kill him right then at this point). So, I just continue sending zerglings, and he tries to wall at the top of a ramp with pylons, and it doesn't work. But he apparently has a lot of minerals too, so instead he walls... with nexuses! A nexus fills up all the tiles its on, so there's absolutely no way through. And the zerglings die to the photon cannons behind, and we lose shortly afterward.
The point is, nexus wall. It was kind of amazing.
