So I have this bag of microwavable popcorn sitting around on my desk, and recently I noticed it bears the warning, "CAUTION: CONTAINS HOT OIL & STEAM". Except, of course, that right now it doesn't contain any such things.

"CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN HOT OIL & STEAM"? But once microwaved (properly), it invariably will, so this probably does not qualify as sufficient warning.

"CAUTION: WILL CONTAIN HOT OIL & STEAM"? Not if you don't microwave it, it won't. (Unless, of course, this popcorn was sent back in time with the knowledge that it had been microwaved - someone would eventually microwave it, if the universe is to be consistent. But then it would have arrived in the present already microwaved, which it evidently is not.)

"CAUTION: WILL CONTAIN HOT OIL & STEAM AFTER MICROWAVING"? I suppose that's the simplest solution.

I think, however, that what I really want to see is a warning that is invisible until microwaved.
