Yeah, Brawl is going to dominate this entry, but it's not all of it.

Aaron sends us this article in which two Melee pros give their impression of Brawl from the E for All demo.

Here, I'll copy over my response from yobohost. Rereading it, some of it doesn't quite make sense, but, I'm lazy.

I like the sound of it. Yes increased hitstun! I'll actually be able
to combo again. Odd how Mario is now one of the better characters - I
would have expected him to stay in his "average guy" role. But if it's
really as balanced as they say it is, hey, maybe he can be the average
guy and still be good. (Not that they can have any real idea of the
balance at this point. Almost everything looks balanced at first.)

Also, grabbing the edge facing the opposite direction? Really cool. No
more "Dammit facing the wrong way!". Only worry about this is the new
procedure they mention for edgehogging - just run straight off and pull
back. Still, I think the benefit will probably outweigh the loss, if
making edgehogging easier is really a loss at all. (Actually I'd like
it to be easier, I'm just worried that might be a bit *too* easy.)

I notice there's no mention of chain throws. I do hope those are gone.
Obviously I expect throws to be much more like those in Melee than 64,
though, for obvious reasons. (And they probably would have mentioned it
if throws were very different from Melee.)

Of course, even if it's somehow worse than Melee or 64, I'm only going
to be playing Brawl for quite a while after it comes out - so many new
movesets to learn, so much new stuff to unlock! - but I have to say it's
definitely looking to be the best right now.

PS: Sonic the Edgehog! (Had to say it.)

Anyway, moving away from Brawl... Jeremy dressed up as Colin for Halloween. He did this by putting on a ponytail wig and going around in a towel. He came to house meeting like this - I walk in and I see him, and I go, "Wait..." I point to Jeremy, then I point to Colin, then I point back to Jeremy... "Harry, I'm going to kill you," Colin says. When time for Weenie came, Jeremy was nominated, but of course I went and nominated Colin - for coming to house meeting in a towel. "Well," he says, "I nominate Harry for not surviving the night!" He won.

Back to Brawl. There's been an actual leak regarding it. To avoid spoilers, I've ROT13ed the name. Anyway. We now know that Xelfgny is in Brawl in some form - not necessarily playable. We know this because some voice actress listed on her webpage that she did the voice acting for her in Brawl. This doesn't mean she's playable, though some people have suggested that the fact that she quickly took it down suggests she's playable. But I'd call that pretty tenuous.

TANSTAAFL - Laura reports we now have a manager for TANSTAAFL! How long before it actually opens, who knows. Hopefully it'll be before the quarter ends, but I'm not counting on it.

OK, I don't actually have anything more to say about Brawl... it just makes the title better.
