sniffnoy: (Chu-Chu Zig)
So Jack is turning out to be a pretty cool RH, so far. (Sarah, meanwhile, is the one who stays in the background.) Meet 'n' Greet was kept behind closed doors and nobody got in trouble (including those not from the house, despite what he said earlier).

Meanwhile - Metal Slug 3. I think this is going to be the game I play obsessively this quarter. Julian, who owns it, actually hasn't beaten it yet. We'll see who's first. (Aaron is playing it a lot too, and several others; of course, he's played it a lot before, and is a lot better than me, but I think I'm beginning to approach him. I managed to get up to the elevator part without dying, and I managed to get up to the boss of the 4th level. Well, I had Colin's help for the latter, but still...)

Also, boardgaming may actually happen significantly more this year. I've found several people who I could probably get for a bunch of games, including Youlian who already knows a bunch. The problem right now seems to be coordination; whenever I try to start one (which so far has mostly been Nexus Ops), it's always a bad time. I have of course put a note on my door saying you're all free to borrow, just leave a note or something (not putting them in the lounge because I think the pieces will get lost), but so far that hasn't happened. (ADDENDUM: It occurs to me this was actually all true last year as well, but oh well. Last year was still significantly better than first year for boardgaming.)

I also think I know most of the first-years' names now, or at least the relevant ones. There's a bunch of name collision this year - we have a Youlian and a Julian; a Nathan and a Nate; a Nora Casey, a Nora Kelley, and a Kelly; and we still have Sarahs Magidson and Entreken, and now the RH Sarah as well.

There are also a surprising number of people who have managed to get themselves injured already...
