gr4yj4y points out on the GHZ: On the Brawl website, Smashville (or rather, the game Animal Crossing) gets its own symbol. Now, this alone is a pretty big hint that there will be an Animal Crossing character in the game, as they've never done a non-generic stage without having some character from that stage, but there's a bigger one. Take a look at the two Assist Trophies announced so far. Samurai Goroh is listed with the Falcon symbol, but Dr. Wright is listed with the generic Smash symbol (rather than, say, some sort of Sim City symbol). This distinction suggests that only games with actual playable characters will get symbols, i.e., there will be an Animal Crossing character.
