Also, today was my first house meeting in a year not as house secretary!

So while IanSTAAFL (aka SOGAMOR) does not actually violate any rules, it comes pretty close. Ian was putting fliers up around the house - and around the other houses in Pierce - and that actually is against the rules. So he wanted some sort of official recognition from the house as some sort of protection. And he wanted to do it by amending the house constitution.

Basically everyone else thought this was stupid Firstly, why the house constitution? Why not just ask for some sort of simple official recognition? But more importantly, as much as we may like to pretend we make our own rules, we're still subject to Housing. A much better idea than trying to get some sort of official recognition from them - which Dave asked them about and they definitely will not grant him - would be not drawing their attention in the first place, i.e. staying entirely unofficial. Well, it's too late for that now, but thankfully Housing isn't actually shutting him down or anything (even the flyers are still up).

Well, he would have required a 2/3 majority to amend the house constitution, and it didn't look like he was going to get a second vote ot match his own. It actually went even worse than that: Dave told us about how Housing would definitely not allow him to make this at all official, and it was decided not to hold a vote at all. (Ian, incidentally, didn't show up.)
