Yay, AGoT! ...wait, what?
Dec. 7th, 2006 06:36 amI will attempt to sound more excited for the first half of this entry.
So today I managed to get out AGoT! 4 player game, me as Lannister, Noah as Baratheon, Grant as Stark, Peter as Tyrell. It was a very good game, as it tends to be, although the end was somewhat disappointing... basically, Grant and I fought, I got horribly squeezed between him and Noah, and Peter got pushed into a bad position where he couldn't do anything to stop Noah from winning, which he did.
And then... Noah wanted to play again. Well, I *suppose* I could go for another game, I'd rather do something else... about 12:30, I'm sitting in Charlotte's room when Peter and Grant come in and tell me I'm playing again. Why the hell not, I say. We also have a 5th player this time, namely Colin - oh god, I've got to explain the rules *again*? My voice is going to be completely worn out.
So I'm Greyjoy, Colin's Lannister, Noah is again Baratheon, Peter's Stark, Grant's Tyrell. Well, Colin and I agree not to attack each other, but Colin fails at defending himself and is quickly eliminated by Baratheon and Tyrell.
Basically, I expanded northward a bit, got a bunch of ships, Noah got really big, Grant's putting himself in Lannister space left him in a position really open to the sea... Noah was around 5,6 cities/strongholds, but then I saw a way to get 6 by going and attacking Grant from the sea, maybe I can get a win next turn... oh crap! I have no power so I can't claim Flint's Finger when I leave it! Oh well, I'm still not in too bad a position...
Then the next turn, Storm of Swords comes up! No defense orders! Holy crap, I am *screwed*!
The final few turns were basically an orgy of destruction as everyone attacked each other and nobody could really keep track of anything. Eventually winter came and Noah won with 5 and 5 supply, though I actually originally wrote here that Peter won before Grant corrected me. See what I mean?
By this point it is nearly 6:30, I am completely worn out, and decide to go to bed, though of course not before writing this.
...I'd point out that I suppose the lesson here is not to play AGoT twice so quickly, but I suppose that was already completely freakin' obvious.

(Still my #1 favorite boardgame, though, when we don't do stupid shit like this)
