Wherein Harry sleeps through class
Oct. 11th, 2006 04:31 pmI've probably said this before, but normally I set my alarm to an hour and half before whatever time whatever I need to go to begins, because sometimes it takes me that long to get up. So last night I set my alarm to 9, figuring I'd skip CS as we're still doing stuff I already know. I didn't want to miss Algebra because I'd missed it on Monday when I was simply too tired to go.
Well, the alarm didn't go off, it seems, but this wasn't a problem, because I found myself awake at 9:30. [ADDENDUM: I now know that the reason it didn't go off was because I had set it for 9 PM. Obviously I found this out when it went off at that time.] Then, ignoring everything I'd learned over the past year, I figured I could go back to bed for a few minutes. (I have now, by the way, reinstated the piece of paper telling me not to do this on top of the alarm clock.)
While asleep I had a dream wherein I looked at the clock and found that it was either 18:00 or 18:45 and I had missed all my classes. Something's wrong, though - when did I wake up? I don't remember waking up... did I wake up after drama? Before? What's going on here?
Around then I actually woke up, quickly realized that what was going on there was that none of that actually happened, and then looked at the clock to see that it was already basically 14:00. Not only had I missed Algebra, it was already midway through Drama.
Well, I figure there's little point in going if I'm going to be that late, but I'll need to make it to the end of class anyway to catch the teacher because I still never got my pinkslip signed.
So I go, get there as class is getting out, find the teacher, only to find out that - OK, some explanation is needed here - we've just read Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and he had split us up into groups to perform scenes from it - because I wasn't there, the other people in my group had nothing to do, and so he ended up reassigning them, meaning I'm out of that, and I'll have to write a paper or something instead. "You're not actually serious, right?" No, he completely was. I did at least get the pinkslip signed, though. :P
