Huh. Some Student Government guy emailed me because I was one of the few people whose complaint about Jack getting kicked out of housing was nonymous. Taken from that email:
Tomorrow at 6pm in Cobb 203 the College Council will be
discussing the Jack Chua situation as it relates to general
Housing disciplinary issues. I would like very much for you
to attend and for yout o bring with you any other students who
feel the same way you do. The College Council may pursue this
issue with the administration if there is enough concern
demonstrated from students. Writing the complaint was the
first step, this is the next.
Hm. Interesting. He also attached an MS Word file containing 9 such complaints (names removed), mine among them (why would you use an MS Word file to store emails?! *grumbles about idiots who've never heard of a text file* He didn't even bother to fix all these backslashes that got inserted before quotes and double-quotes). Only 9? So much for flooding them. We did at least get most of the house to sign the relevant petition, but ISTM an email flood is better. Although it could be that many more emailed the other people Scott suggested emailing, or that these 9 are just chosen as examples (though the latter seems unlikely, seeing as how one just reads "Don't kick Jack Chua out of housing!").
Of course, I have to wonder if, if somehow Jack were let back in to housing, he'd come back, seeing as how next year he was going to move out anyway, he got his money back, and he does have an apartment now. But really the big thing is getting the ban lifted, which is a real problem, and would also be much easier to do. :P
