Wherein Seohyung shows up unexpectedly
Jan. 2nd, 2006 10:25 pmSo I am returned to Chicago. Also I have set up my Dreamcast, with what few games I have for it, in the lounge.
Also when Lucas returned, Seohyung was with him! She was flying to Boston via Chicago to return to her boarding school but the flight out of Chicago was weather-cancelled, and so it seems she's staying here for the night.
Lucas didn't realize Wei had changed problem 8 on the writeup to be in a complete metric space. Let's see if he can come up with a counterexample to 8b before Wednesday... :D
Also: Brian has returned, and Frank now has a roommate again - except that that roommate isn't Brian, who is now in Maclean. It's some foreign student doing a study abroad thing. Haven't met him yet. Also, it seems Boz is leaving - going home to Philadelphia for the rest of the year. Hm.
...also, I got a reply from DrSpud, that Blue Spheres guy! It turns out I had gotten it a while ago and failed to notice it... perhaps one of my adhoc filters was filtering it out? I'll have to fix that when I get home. Anyway, he already knew that the purple passwords are just different passwords, not levels, but he doesn't have test data to work with - he has a rom of S&K and of many other games, but, it seems, only in .smd format, not .bin format, and it seems that you can't splice them together in the former format. He no longer has S&K itself. The result of all this is his test data is just 3 passwords from GameFAQs. Well, had I seen the email at home, I could have got him a whole bunch of test data, but now I'm here, and all I have is the 4 test cases I recorded on this computer. So I sent him those. So, if by some chance, any of you have S&K with you, and feel like helping, but not enough to actually try and figure it out for yourself, but enough to get perfects on levels to get their passwords, send me your test data!
