sniffnoy: (Chu-Chu Zig)
A summary of the things that have happened over the past week or so, before I start packing for Chicago:

Good things:
Went to gamenight on Friday and got to playtest a pretty much final version of Gil's game "Wag the Wolf". When he asked for comments, Andrew said, "Publish it." Really the only other comments were to change the disasters. (The idea of the game is that you're a media company that's predicting how the world will end, and the disasters are Aliens, Flood, Supernova, Virus, or maybe it's all just a big Hoax.) He's going to submit it to the Hippodice game competition. I also tried to watch a game of Tigris & Euphrates, having no idea how to play, and got immensely confused. And, of course, I got to see Tardy again. :)
Have definitely improved considerably at Lost Levels.
New Minesweeper records! 7,45,146.

Bad things:
Had to do massive room-cleaning. Had to throw out... lots of stuff that deserved to be thrown out. Come to think of it, my hard drives could really use with some mass deletions. But the point is I had to spend a lot of time sorting through old junk.
Still have not installed Linux on laptop or fixed desktop.
Have to write thank-you cards. I don't get it. I thanked them when they gave me the present, why do it again? Because now I've opened it? Uncle Wayne just handed me a $100 bill, no wrapping paper or anything.
I had to go to the dentist - although this is sort of a good thing, as the real bad thing is that it turns out I have a cavity. Going to have it filled tomorrow.
Question: If that stuff they use to fill cavities can't get cavities itself, why not just coat all my teeth in a thin layer of it so I can't ever get cavities?
Not only that, the dentist wants me to use this fluoride stuff, which is called a "gel" but is actually a liquid and is really scary and very hard to use. It's pink and it gets on everything and I've not used it properly once.
The water's fluoridated in Chicago anyway, right? I'm hoping this means I won't have to use it...

? things:
My parents got the whole family cell phones. I plan to keep mine off most of the time. :)
