The morning bus goes wrong again!
May. 12th, 2005 08:25 pmWhee. So we get on the morning bus today, and, after a bit, we find that we're not leaving. The bus driver is talking on the phone to somebody at headquarters - it sounds like she's asking for directions. (She's speaking in Spanish.) "Do you need directions to somewhere?" I ask her. "Yes," she says, and goes back to talking on the phone. After a bit, she tells me that the bus isn't working; they're sending another bus.
So we wait about 15 minutes...
The other bus arrives, along with someone to repair the ordinary one. We all get into the new bus, when the guy tells us: the original bus is working fine. She had it in the wrong gear.
...yes, she had it in the wrong gear. (Or something like that. I couldn't quite understand what he was saying.)
And so we went in the original bus. Amazingly, there were still people at some of the other stops.
An interesting note: Even though our bus driver's primary language is Spanish, she curses in English.
