I left out a bit in the entry below. They always take attendance, right? So some guy comes back to Mr. Holbrook and tells him, Harry isn't there. And Mr. Holbrook says, Well, he should be. So the guy says, Oh, maybe I missed him. He does not then bother to check whether or not I actually *am* there.

As for the ski trip thing I meant to write about...

At first, all I knew about the ski trip was that my sister had fallen on her face. We got a call, and mom told me Elana had fallen on her face. When she got back, I found out that, in fact, she had gotten a concussion.

But what everyone was talking about about the ski trip was not Elana's concussion. It was something that had them calling everyone who had been on it down to the office (auditorium?), and they might not have any ski trips again.

The story, as I heard it, several times, is this:

Brett, a senior, stole somebody's snowboard. The police saw him and came up to him. He ran away, and fell into a stream. The police had to fish him out of the stream, and, searching him, found marijuana on him.

Mom, upon hearing this, immediately pointed out that if that had actually been what happened, they wouldn't have possibly have let him come back to New Jersey so quickly. So, no police, no marijuana; Elana told me, he ran away from the *guards*, not the police. The ski place decided not to press charges against him, instead simply banning him from there.

But you would at least think the thing about the stream would be true... "What stream? They were all frozen over!"

Oh well.

As for the piece of the boardroom table: I tore off a piece of the boardroom table. ...Yeah, not really much to say there.

Dr. Mayers: College will not help you prepare to become a criminal.
Me: Yes it can!
Anna: Say if you get a law degree-
Dr. Mayers: Well, I'm trying to distinguish between the people we normally call criminals, and the Republican Party.

Apparently I just *missed* the first AMC.

Today is a reading/half/elective fair day. (Those used to be separate days, didn't they?) Anyway, everyone[0] had been telling me some weird thing about how today was scheduled, and it involved the AMC *not* being immediately after IGS.

Which, of course, it was. Is.

I didn't know; I just stayed in IGS. Yes, yes, AMC is always first thing, but I didn't remember, and I had been told otherwise.

And as I was wandering the hallway later, Mr. Holbrook happened to see me and asked me, "Aren't you taking the AMC?"
"Of course I am!"
He then explained that it was going on *now*, in the upstairs cafeteria...
"But they said they were doing some sort of testing in the upstairs cafeteria... I figured they meant an actual test, like that IB history test people were talking about."

Well, here I am, with nothing better to do on a reading day (save for actual work, of course... but that's what the half day is for) writing about it on my LJ.

As long as I'm here, I may as write about some of the other things I said I would... nah.

[0]Or, at the very least, I had heard it repeatedly.
