I don't think Dr. Vij^H^H^HBajwa knows her own late policy. I only lost 20 points on the 9-days-late essay, rather than 45. As I got a 100 on it otherwise (she's a bio teacher, after all :P ), that's not too bad.

Gah. Dr. Galitskiy is now going to be using this weird web-based system we have to do our homework on, so now we actually have to do it... what a waste of time...

AP Physics C is supposed to be calculus-based. So why is Galitskiy so afraid to use calculus? Even in the simplest cases. For instance, today he asks the question, a guy walks across the length of a boat, how much does the boat move? Conservation of momentum, m1v1=-m2v2. Integrate, m1d1-m2d2. But no, instead Galitskiy says we'll assume he goes at constant velocity, and multiplies. Huh?! What sort of stupid, unnecessary assumption is that? The class is supposed to know basic calculus!

Now, as you probably know, Dr. Nevard's room is right next to the music room, so generally we have to go through our math class with loud music - typically drums - going all class. (Sometimes with us banging along. :D ) Today, though, there was just the faint sound of a xylophone. After a while, while Dr. Nevard was talking about implicit differentiation[0], I suddenly cracked up. The person was playing - *very* slowly, as they seemed to be figuring it out as they were playing it - the Mario theme! Although, I noted at the end of class, they kept on leaving out the part that it only plays the second time through...

Tom: "What is with this obsession with the Mario theme?!" (Referring to people in general, not me :P )

Well, Kerry won the mock election by a landslide (about 70%). As if that means anything. Tom thought Nader might actually get more than Bush, but no, he only got about 2%. If it had occurred to me at the time that it didn't matter in the slightest who I voted for, I would have voted for Badnarik or someone just for the fun of it. Elana says lots of people she knows would have voted for Nader were it not for the fact that you had to use a paper ballot to do so, he wasn't on the electronic machines. OK: Why would anybody be that lazy, especially when the paper ballots are right there? Really. Right there. With a much shorter line. I used one. I suppose because it doesn't actually mean anything...

Where did the school get electronic voting machines, anyway? It's not a polling place.

Damned 3-days-too-late birthday...

...our time is off...

[0]Well, really, that doesn't tell you anything, as that's all we were doing today.
