Title quote (approximately) from John Deyrup.
Since I have the laptop now I was actually able to go to the LAN party yesterday without having to borrow one. (This computer hasn't had a decently-working copy of Windows for a long time now (and now it doesn't have any). For that matter it hasn't even had a decently-working copy of Linux for some time now, too... on the whole, it's not network-worthy.) Elana thinks it strange that the LAN party went 9 hours (≈14:00 to ≈23:00). I don't see why.
I must say, my laptop's hard drive is much smaller than it originally seemed. I actually ran out of space at one point yesterday, or rather, didn't have enough space to install UT2K4, which, considering how big the game is, hardly counts as running out of space. (The game takes up like 5 GB!) Time to start backing that anime up to CD, I suppose... (or to this computer. Though this computer has only 12 GB left, which wouldn't be enough... I think I'd rather actually leave usable room on this computer...) Still nearly everything I installed yesterday I've gotten rid of, to free up space (and because I really don't want to be too much of a pirate...). UT2K4 also takes ridiculously long to install; most everyone else already had it, with the result that I barely got to play it at all. And now I've gotten rid of it, meaning I'm going to have to go through that again. Oy oy oy...
I managed to get a copy of the SNES romset there. :D
It is nearly impossible to type with your feet on a laptop keyboard...
I had quite a bit of trouble installing Soldier of Fortune II. The first person I tried to get a copy from (I forget who), my antivirus program wouldn't let me (thankfully) because it was infected. An apparently harmless virus, it was later said, looking it up, but still... it was probably picked it up from George (of course). Anyway I downloaded it from someone, but I couldn't join the game because for whatever reason I didn't have the map they were using (and whoever was hosting didn't have it set to automatically upload it to those who didn't have it). So they told me to just run it off Ben's computer, only I thought they said to just get the map off Ben's computer, and nobody knew just where to find the map, although they didn't understand why I was asking anyway, as they were telling me to just run it off his computer.
It turns out a *few* people ended up just running it off Ben's computer, which screwed things up a bit.
In other news, ninja can now officially be bought and sold on the Nomicron market. :D
